a5c7b9f00b Picking up two years after the Egypt incident, the Autobots and their human allies discover a lost piece of Cybertronian technology which has been in human possession for several years. It is revealed that the artifact is part of an Autobot spacecraft which has crashed on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon and carries a special technology and the legendary Sentinel Prime (Optimus Prime's old mentor). However, Sam Witwicky discovers a conspiracy by the Decepticons who plot to use it for their own evil purposes. And Optimus Prime finds that they are up against a menace who plans to also use it to enslave humanity in order to restore Cybertron. Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Mirage (aka Dino), Wheeljack (aka Que) and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action taking on the evil Decepticons, who are eager to avenge their recent defeat. The Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the United States and Russia to reach a hidden Cybertronian spacecraft on the moon and learn its secrets, and once again Sam Witwicky has to go to the aid of his robot friends. The new villain Shockwave is on the scene while the Autobots and Decepticons continue to battle it out on Earth. When I saw transformers first movie - it was pretty decent. The characters were awkward but that made the movie entertaining. The actions scenes were incredibly good. And the plot itself was great.

When I saw the second part it was kindly disappointing because the acting wasn't as great as in first one, storyline was poor. But at least the action was a doze of adrenaline.

Then I thought that maybe Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon will redeem itself. How naive I was. Now, what wrong with this movie?

Let's begin with storyline - it is boring and some of the twists make it even more boring and unrealistic.

The action sequences presented way less than the drama and comedy scenes. And I thought people go to view such movies for a lot of action and possibly bit of drama.

The jokes by the secondary characters are plain and stupid. Only few jokes were to laugh at.

Some of the scenes were made as if they were only made for a trailer. Don't believe me? Watch the trailer again after you watch movie.

The greatest villain from previous movies was really pathetic. How comes? On the other hand, small transformers managed to influence the storyline more than him. Are you freaking kidding me?

So, let's cut the long story short. It's a bad sequel, and I don't recommend to watch it. Even if you were fan of the first movie. Our summer of sequels continues with the Transformers returning to the big screen with their third outing. After the rather disappointing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen I have to say that my hopes were not particularly high for this one.

Dark of the Moon is set several years after the second movie where Sam (Shia LaBeouf) is struggling to get a job and return his life to normal and yet this still hasn't stopped him from bagging the most attractive girl in the city- Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). At the same time, the Autobots discover that a Cybertronian spacecraft crash landed on the Moon during the 1960's and race against the Decepticons to reach it first and protect the secrets that it holds. The two story lines overlap and voilĂ the plot is born.

As always the visuals impress and are the best in the franchise so far but I ended up asking myself how is this different from the previous two and it led me to this answer- there isn't that much of a difference at all. Bay has upped the ante somewhat in regards to the amount of CGI he has crammed into the movie so expect more fighting, more action and a whole lot more slowmo. While many will think great more action, I see it as part of the problem though. There is only so many times that I can be impressed with a vehicle transforming into something else, in slow motion, before it becomes repetitive and I felt like I reached my limit in this film.

Aside from the first 10 minutes which dealt with the space race of the 1960's, it took a while for the film to get going. For the last hour or so though, I was enjoying what the film had to offer where it took on a Black Hawk Down kind of persona during battle scenes in the city.

Several issues I had: at 157 minutes the film tended to drag in several places and led to a rather rushed final scene that should not have been; the comedy element was greatly reduced despite a cameo from Ken Jeong aka Mr Chow from The Hangover; the new love interest did not impress with her acting skills at all and was more than likely brought in merely as token eye candy for the viewers, which she did succeed in; and most importantly, the plot had more holes in it than a Swiss cheese being used as target practice on a shooting range. And that is an understatement. Also there has been zero continuity between the trilogy of films so far which does not go down well with me.

I was more impressed than I thought I was going to be but as I said expectation had been lowered due to the extremely poor second film. I have to be careful here because I think the impressive graphics have partly blinded me to the rest of the cracks that appear in the film. All I can say is if you enjoyed the first movie or like good visuals then you will enjoy this one and if you didn't or want an involved and interesting plot that develops itself and the characters as the movie progresses then you won't get that here.

For further reviews feel free to check out: http://www.fanaticalaboutfilms.com It's true epic filmmaking that's toppled over its tipping point: after the 20th explosion and 64th wall of shattering glass, its enormity undermines its impact. Transformers is actually based on the Transformers toy series. The Transformer toy line gained popularity in the 1980s as toys that could be transformed from vehicles, animals, and other devices into various action figures. Based on the popularity of the Transformer toy line, there have been a number of spinoffs in the franchise, such as several comic books series, animated movies, and even a TV series Transformers (1984) (1984-1987). This movie's plot is taken from the Transformers TV show season one trilogy story arc "The Ultimate Doom": (1) "Brainwash", (2) "Search", and (3) "Revival"; which featured the Decepticons using human slaves to bring Cybertron into Earth's orbit through the space bridge. Transformers are fictional, sentient alien robots and the title characters of a popular Hasbro toy line and its spin-offs. Coming from the planet Cybertron, the Transformers are divided into two factions, the heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the evil Decepticons, almost always led by Megatron. They are able to "transform", rearranging their bodies into common or innocuous forms, including vehicles (the most commonly known form), devices or animals. They can displace mass (i.e. shrink and expand), combine with one another, and apply synthetic flesh, although the displacement of mass is only used outside of the film trilogy as Bay felt is was unrealistic and wanted to you use real physics on the Transformers. This ability to transform is reflected in the programs' taglines "More Than Meets the Eye" and "Robots in Disguise". All Transformers stories and characters, in a range of media, have been based around this core concept since their debut in 1984.

Transformers (called Cybertronians as a species name) have their own civilization and customs, which has generally existed for a very long time (tens of millions of years). In fact, many Transformers themselves are millions of years old, having extremely long lifespans and power reserves. They are usually depicted as being born from "protoforms" (blank shells) and after being given Spark (their life force) they develop into their own bodies and age via upgrades. Despite being robots, they do show cases of "sexual dimorphism", in that there are Transformers with distinctly "male" and "female" traits (and some individuals even form romantic relationships). As of 2017, there are five films in the series. They are divided into two trilogies. The initial trilogy consists of Transformers (2007) (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) (2009), and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) (2014) is the first film of the second planned transformers trilogy and in which none of the previous human characters return, and Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) (2017) continues off from it with only Sector Seven agent Simmons and USMC General Morshower resurfacing from Dark of the Moon.
